This page has been created for the Festival Crew. The Festival Crew is responsible for operating the numerous performance festivals that are held at Passage Middle School throughout the spring performance season. Our school has a reputation for excellence in hosting Festivals for Music in the Parks. Therefore, it is important to have students on the Festival Crew who take their job seriously and represent the best of Passage Middle School.
This year, we will be hosting six Music in the Parks festivals, as well as the District VIII Orchestra Performance Assessment event. We will be adding a concessions stand to our festival set-up, as well as expanding our catered food option for ensembles performing at our school. We will need thirty students from our band, orchestra, and chorus programs to work on the crew. As well, adults will be needed to execute certain functions for our festivals. Therefore, this year, in order for students to work on the crew, parents will be required to volunteer to work at least one festival day. Students who participate for the entire festival season, and whose parents work their volunteer shift, will earn a special medal at the end of the year.
The Festival Crew opportunity is bi-fold, as it offers our students the opportunity to work in a professional work environment, while also raising funds for the band, orchestra, and chorus programs at our school. We will base our selections off of your submissions on this application, as well as your performance in band, orchestra, and chorus, and your other experiences as a member of the team. Please return this application directly to Mr. Roberts by Thursday, January 22nd. Applications received after that time will NOT be accepted.
